Missing Mommy?

Recently the boys spent a week away from home at their Granny and Paw-paw's house.  They had a blast fishing for the first time, swimming in the pool, and playing with the cute little neighbor girl, Allie Grace.  When we picked the boys up I asked if they missed me...

David's very quick reply:  "Not at all!"


Paul did not reply so quickly... He leaned over to James and told him, "I missed mommy in the bathroom."

Well, I thought, he missed me in the bathroom.  I guess he needed me to wipe his bottom...


Later that night as we were putting the boys to bed...

Paul said, "Mommy can I tell you something?"


I replied, "Of course you can tell me something."


 He said, "I missed you SO much at Granny and Paw-paw's house that I went into the bathroom and cried."

 That just broke my heart... he missed me so much that he went to the bathroom and cried.  He said he watched himself cry in the mirror...  He said he did not tell anyone that he missed me or that he had been crying... and he said he only cried on Friday...  now I know why he said that he missed me in the bathroom...

So sad...  but it is good to know that I was missed some!
